Before Fear Comes Fear

Most people believe fear begins with anxiety, worry, or panic. Fear Before Fear explores a deeper question. What happens before fear becomes fear? This book journeys beneath the surface of emotion to uncover the assumptions, expectations, imagined futures, and internal stories that quietly shape our lives long before fear becomes visible. Rather than focusing solely on managing fear after it appears, this exploration seeks to understand its hidden beginnings and reveal how fear often starts growing long before we ever recognize its presence.

"Fear often begins long before we feel it."

About the Author

Bradley Hobbs is an educator, father, author, and believer in Jesus Christ. His passion for learning and understanding life's deeper questions has led him to explore subjects that many people experience but few stop to examine closely.

The inspiration for Fear Before Fear grew from a personal curiosity about fear itself. Rather than asking how to overcome fear after feeling it, Bradley began asking a different question:

What happens before fear is ever felt?

Through research, reflection, observation, and writing, he sought to better understand the unseen process that often takes place beneath the surface.

Bradley is not a psychologist, therapist, or mental health professional.

He writes from the perspective of an experienced human being who has walked through difficult seasons, wrestled with fear, faced uncertainty, and spent years searching for understanding.

Some places in life cannot be navigated by another person's words alone. Certain journeys require personal discovery, growth, and the willingness to confront what is happening within ourselves.

Putting these ideas into words helped him develop a healthier perspective on fear and uncertainty while providing a framework that others may find helpful in their own journeys.

His goal has never been to force conclusions upon readers or shove answers upon people who have not asked for them. Instead, he hopes to invite thoughtful exploration, meaningful reflection, and a deeper awareness of how fear often begins long before it is felt.

Above all, he hopes this book encourages readers to recognize fear's influence before fear takes hold, embrace the present moment, and remember a simple truth:

Fear is a liar.
