Chapter Five

The Weight of Yes

Morning sunlight climbed over the hills surrounding Nazareth while Mary sat quietly beside the window. Heaven had spoken. Destiny had entered ordinary life. A calling larger than understanding now rested upon her shoulders.

Favor carried beauty, though favor also carried responsibility. Mary realized that surrender would require more than agreement. Surrender required trust.

A yes to God often carries a greater weight than expected, yet grace always meets obedience.

Questions still echoed within her heart. Fear occasionally resurfaced. Future conversations with family, uncertainty surrounding Joseph, and the unknown path ahead pressed against her thoughts.

"With God nothing shall be impossible." Luke 1:37

Mary walked beyond Nazareth and stood among the hills while wind moved gently through the grass. Quiet prayers rose toward heaven as her heart wrestled with the reality of calling.

Then surrender became stronger than fear. She whispered words that would echo through generations: "Behold the servant of the Lord. Let it be according to Your word."

Obedience becomes lighter when trust grows deeper.

A sacred peace settled over her spirit. Saying yes had not removed uncertainty, though surrender had replaced striving. The weight remained. Grace also remained.
