Ashley's healing journey had brought her closer to Jesus than ever before. Peace had returned. Strength had returned. Healing had begun unfolding. Then another challenge appeared. People began noticing changes.
Questions started coming. Why had she become quieter? Why had she stepped back? Why did she no longer carry every burden placed upon her shoulders? Some people misunderstood her silence. Others misunderstood her boundaries.
Comments slowly surfaced. "She seems distant." "Something feels different." "Maybe she changed."
Ashley felt tension rising inside. Part of her wanted to explain every choice. Part of her wanted everyone to understand. Yet another part remembered what Jesus had been teaching her.
She realized she did not owe every person an explanation. Healing did not require permission. Restoration did not require approval. Jesus already understood every hidden reason.
Still, guilt occasionally surfaced. She wondered whether boundaries disappointed people. She worried that others viewed her as uncaring. Then scripture redirected her thoughts.
Ashley began understanding boundaries differently. Boundaries were not walls. Boundaries were protection. God had covered her during hidden seasons. Protecting peace became part of healing.
She discovered another truth. People may never fully understand journeys they never walked. Some people only see absence. Jesus sees healing. Some people see distance. Jesus sees restoration.
Ashley grew stronger. She learned how to remain kind without losing herself. She learned how to love others without sacrificing peace. She learned that understanding from God outweighed understanding from people.
To the reader feeling misunderstood:
Not everyone will understand your healing journey. Not everyone will understand boundaries. Not everyone will understand seasons of restoration. Jesus understands. His wings remain enough. Continue walking forward. Continue healing. Continue trusting Him.
