Closets Built by Fear, Not God
Hidden places can become spaces of protection and survival
Closets are often misunderstood. Many people speak about hidden spaces as though secrecy automatically means shame, deception, or weakness.
Reality often tells another story.
Hidden places are frequently built from protection. Fear. Survival. Careful observation. Hidden places sometimes become shelters created after experiencing pain.
You do not hide because you are weak. You do not hide because you are dishonest. You hide because being fully known has sometimes brought wounds.
Words can cut deeply. Judgment can leave scars. Certain environments can make openness feel dangerous.
Jesus never measured faith by visibility. Jesus never demanded immediate exposure. He walked alongside hidden people, overlooked people, and hesitant people.
Think of Mary and Joseph arriving in Bethlehem. No room waited for them. Jesus entered the world through a quiet, overlooked place.
Sacred things sometimes begin in hidden places.
Temporary spaces of shelter can teach patience. Discernment. Strength. Trust.
Hidden places may hold fear for a season, yet hidden places never remove your value.
You remain fully seen. You remain fully loved.
This chapter does not push anyone forward before readiness arrives. This chapter simply sits beside you and reminds you: Your life carries beauty. Your existence carries purpose. God remains present even within quiet places.
