Scripture:
“So, neither he who plants is anything nor he who waters, but [only] God Who makes it grow and become greater.” 1 Corinthians 3:7
Devotion:
Life often feels measured by outcomes. Growth, success, and visible results tend to define whether something is seen as meaningful. That pressure can quietly follow us into every area of life, including our walk with God.
God never placed the weight of results on your shoulders. He called you to faithfulness.
Paul reminded the church that planting and watering matter, yet growth belongs to God alone. Human effort has a role, but divine power produces the increase. That truth frees the heart from striving and centers the soul in trust.
Carrying the burden of outcomes leads to exhaustion. Peace fades when identity becomes tied to what can be seen. Faith grows when trust shifts from visible results to God’s unseen work.
Faithfulness looks simple, yet powerful. Showing up. Loving well. Speaking truth. Serving quietly. Trusting deeply.
Growth may not always be visible, yet God is always working beneath the surface. Seeds planted in obedience never go to waste in His hands.
Release the pressure to force what only God can produce. Rest in the confidence that obedience honors Him, and He will handle what comes next.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for reminding me that growth belongs to You. Teach me to be faithful without striving for control. Help me trust Your timing, Your process, and Your power at work beyond what I can see. Strengthen my heart to remain steady, obedient, and at peace. In Jesus’ name, amen.
