Fit for the Kingdom

1 Corinthians 6:19–20

Scripture:

“Do you not know that your body is God’s temple, where His Spirit lives? You belong to God, because He paid a great price for you. So, honor God and give glory to Him with your body.” 1 Corinthians 6:19–20

Devotion:

Culture places heavy focus on appearance, pushing unrealistic standards and outward perfection. God calls you into something deeper. Your body carries purpose. Your body holds value. Your body serves as a dwelling place for His Spirit.

Caring for your body is not rooted in vanity. Stewardship reflects honor. Discipline reflects gratitude. Every choice connected to health becomes an opportunity to worship.

Movement strengthens endurance. Rest restores clarity. Nourishment fuels purpose. These are not small decisions. These are daily acts that position you to serve, lead, and respond when God calls.

Strength is not only physical. Strength supports spiritual assignment. A healthy body allows you to remain present, available, and ready for the work placed before you.

Neglect slowly limits capacity. Care builds readiness. Each choice shapes how you show up for others and how you carry the calling on your life.

Honor God with your body, not out of pressure, but out of purpose.

Reflection:

• How do you view your body, as a burden or a gift?
• Where can small changes strengthen your daily life?
• How can your physical health support your calling?

Prayer:

Lord, thank You for the body You have given me. Help me treat it with care, discipline, and gratitude. Strengthen me to make choices that honor You and prepare me for the work You have called me to do. Let my life reflect stewardship, not pressure, and purpose, not performance. In Jesus’ name, amen.
