Never Too Far Gone

Luke 19:10 & Romans 5:8

Devotion:

Have you ever felt like you’ve gone too far with God?
Like you’ve sinned too much, messed up too many times, or worn too many masks that you don’t even know who you are anymore?
You might sit there in silence, thinking, “Salvation is for others. I’m too broken. I can’t be fixed.”
But that’s not the Gospel.
The Gospel is not for the perfect.
The Gospel is not for the strong.
The Gospel is for the broken, the lost, the addicted, the angry, the ashamed, the overwhelmed.
Jesus doesn’t just tolerate broken people. He came for them.

If sin could disqualify you from being saved, the cross would not have been necessary.
With the cross, no sin is greater than His grace.

When You’re So Broken You Don’t Even Know How to Cry Out…
You don’t need to have the right words.
You don’t need to clean yourself up first.
You don’t even need to fully understand it all.
You just need to turn your face toward Jesus, even if all you can whisper is, “Help me.”

Examples From Scripture:
The Prodigal Son didn’t get a lecture, he got a robe, a ring, and a feast (Luke 15).

The Thief on the Cross was guilty, dying, and out of time and still Jesus said, “Today you will be with me in paradise” (Luke 23:43).

Mary Magdalene was freed from seven demons and was the first to see Jesus rise from the dead (Luke 8:2; John 20:16).

If there was hope for them, there is hope for you.

Prayer:
Jesus, I feel far away, broken, and unworthy. You came for the lost, and I believe that includes me. I do not have the right words or the strength to fix myself, so I bring You my mess. Save me, not because of who I am, but because of who You are. In Jesus’ name, amen.
