Scriptures
“I remind you to keep the gift of God within you alive and strong, like a fire that keeps burning. This gift was given to you when I laid my hands on you.” 2 Timothy 1:6
“Samuel said, Has the Lord as great a delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.” 1 Samuel 15:22
Devotion
God has already gifted you something special; a purpose, power, and a task to fulfill. Stirring isn’t just about getting excited or getting noticed, it’s about being obedient.
Sometimes, we want to do the big things for God; the visible, sacrificial acts, we forget the simple command: Stir the gift. Use what He gave. Be faithful. The Word is clear: Obedience is better than sacrifice.
You don’t need another sign; you need to stir what’s already there. You don’t need another opportunity; you need to walk through the one you’ve been avoiding. You don’t need to do more to earn God’s approval, you need to do what He already asked.
When you stir your gift, do it with anticipation; believing God will breathe on it, open doors, and work through you. Stir it with obedience, because delayed obedience is still disobedience. Sacrifice might impress people, obedience moves heaven.
Declare This Today
“I stir the gift inside me with anticipation, believing that God will move.
But I also stir it with obedience, knowing that He already gave me the instruction.
I won’t wait until I feel ready. I won’t delay. I will walk in what He’s called me to
Because obedience is better than sacrifice, and I want to please the One who called me.”
Prayer
Lord, thank You for the gifts You’ve placed in me. Help me not just to recognize them, but to stir them with faith, hope, and obedience. I don’t want to make excuses. I want to follow You fully. Teach me to obey quickly, to trust boldly, and to expect You to move. I stir the gift because I trust the Giver. In Jesus’ name, amen.
