Devotion:
You’ve been strong for a long time. Not just “hold-it-together” strong, in silent pain, get-through-it-anyway, don’t-let-it-show strong. Maybe you’ve reached a point where strength feels like a cage, not a gift.
You’re not asking God to make you weak.
You’re asking Him to make you real.
To take off the survival mask.
To tear down the walls of numbness.
To burn out everything that’s false or prideful because you’re done living hollow.
That breaking isn’t shameful. It’s sacred.
It’s God saying:
“I love you too much to let you live halfway alive. I want your whole heart. Even the broken, bruised, tired parts. Especially those.”
Brokenness in God’s hands isn’t the end. It’s the beginning.
The strongest men in Scripture, David, Jacob, Peter, and Paul, were shaped through brokenness. Transformation did not arise through failure alone. Complete surrender to God marked the turning point.
Confession replaced performance. Grace outweighed appearance. Rebuilding was formed through their intimacy with God rather than image or reputation.
The goal is to be perfect in Him not in flesh. The work has always been renewal through Him.
Breaking may mark the beginning. Wholeness defines the end.
Prayer:
God, my heart stands broken before You. My strength feels gone. Your healing is welcomed, even through breaking. Pride fails. Please remove the masks. Everything within me I placed in Your hands. Make me whole again by Your grace. In Jesus’ name, amen.
