Scripture Readings:
Hebrews 11:1 – Now faith is the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses].
Matthew 21:22 – And whatever you ask for in prayer, having faith and [really] believing, you will receive.
Romans 10:17 – So faith comes by hearing [what is told], and what is heard comes by the preaching [of the message that came from the lips] of Christ (the Messiah Himself).
Hebrews 13:8 – Jesus Christ (the Messiah) is [always] the same, yesterday, today, [yes] and forever (to the ages).
Mark 5:34 – He said to her, Daughter, your faith (your trust and confidence in Me, springing from faith in God) has restored you to health. Go in (into) peace and be continually healed and freed from your [distressing bodily] disease.
Devotion:
The woman with the issue of blood had every reason to give up. Twelve years of suffering, shame, and failed remedies had taken everything from her health, her money, and her place in society. Still, she heard about Jesus. What she heard awakened something powerful within her, faith.
Despite weakness and fear, she reached forward, believing that even touching the hem of His garment would be enough. This moment reflects Hebrews 11:1 in motion, faith becoming the substance of hope and the evidence of a healing not yet seen. Jesus honored that faith.
Her quiet act drew power from Christ Himself. As Matthew 21:22 declares, a believing heart receives. Jesus stopped, turned toward her, and called her “Daughter,” restoring not only her body, though her dignity and identity.
Transformation did not come from the touch alone, though from the faith behind the reach. Jesus remains unchanged, the same yesterday, today, and forever. Every moment of sincere faith still reaches Him, even now.
When you reach toward Him in faith, especially within desperate and uncertain moments, you encounter the same power that restored her. Nothing about His ability has changed.
Prayer:
Lord, courage rises within me through this example of faith. Strengthen my trust when circumstances feel overwhelming and uncertain. Teach my heart to reach toward You without hesitation, without fear, and without doubt.
Confidence grows through knowing that You remain unchanged, steady, and faithful. Let my faith become active, alive, and rooted deeply in Your power. Shape my life through trust that reaches beyond what I can see. In Jesus’ name, amen.
