“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.”
Our understanding is limited. It is shaped by past experiences, fears, expectations, and even pride. Sometimes, we try to make sense of life based only on what we see or feel. God calls us to trust in what He sees, not just what we understand.
When the Path Does Not Make Sense
Leaning on our own understanding is like walking through a maze with a blindfold, thinking we know the way. Trusting God is like letting the One who sees the whole map guide us, even when the path does not make sense.
Faith often grows in mystery. True devotion means choosing trust over clarity and obedience over certainty.
Why Trust Feels Hard
We like control. We fear being wrong. We want quick answers. We often equate not understanding with being unsafe.
Yet God’s wisdom reaches beyond the limits of our reasoning. His direction can be trusted even when our emotions are still catching up.
Prayer
Lord, help me to release my grip on what I think I know. Teach me to trust You even when the path is unclear. Let my heart lean into Your wisdom, not my own. I surrender my reasoning and receive Your peace. In Jesus’ name, amen.
