Stand in Prayer

The Ministry of Intercession

Throughout the Bible, God's people prayed for others. Abraham prayed for a city. Moses prayed for Israel. Hannah prayed for her son. Jesus prayed for His disciples. Paul continually prayed for the churches. These examples remind us that prayer is not only personal. It is also an act of love for those around us. :contentReference[oaicite:1]{index=1}

When we intercede, we place people into God's faithful hands. We cannot change hearts or circumstances by our own strength, but we can faithfully ask the Lord to give wisdom, comfort, healing, conviction, strength, and grace according to His will.

One of the greatest ways to love someone is to faithfully pray for them.

Pray with Purpose

Who Should We Pray For?

The Bible encourages believers to lift many different people before God. Some are close to us, while others we may never meet. Intercessory prayer reflects God's love as we faithfully remember others before His throne of grace.

Your Family

Pray for your spouse, children, parents, grandparents, and extended family. Ask God to strengthen their faith, protect them, and draw them closer to Himself.

Your Church

Biblical Principles

How to Pray for Others

Pray Faithfully

Intercession is often quiet and unseen, but God hears every sincere prayer offered in faith.

Pray with Compassion

Allow God's love to shape your prayers. Pray with genuine concern for the needs and well-being of others.

Pray According to Scripture

Use God's Word to guide your prayers, asking Him to accomplish His purposes in the lives of those you remember.

Pray Without Partiality

Remember not only friends and family but also neighbors, strangers, leaders, missionaries, and those who are difficult to love.

Trust God's Wisdom

God answers according to His perfect knowledge and timing. Continue praying even when answers are not immediately visible.

Never Grow Weary

Continue faithfully lifting others before the Lord. Your prayers are an expression of love, obedience, and trust in God's faithfulness.

Stand in the Gap

Pray Faithfully for Others

Every day, people around us carry burdens that we may never fully see. Some are struggling with illness, others with grief, fear, loneliness, temptation, or uncertainty. Intercessory prayer is one way we can faithfully love others by bringing their needs before the Lord.

You may never know how God uses your prayers in someone's life, but you can trust that He hears every sincere request offered in faith. Continue praying with compassion, trusting His wisdom, and remembering that He is able to do far more than we can ask or imagine.

Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.
Galatians 6:2

A Prayer for Others

Interceding with Love

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for the people You have placed in my life. Help me to remember their needs and faithfully bring them before You in prayer. Give wisdom to those who need direction, comfort to those who are hurting, healing to those who are sick, and hope to those who feel discouraged.

Strengthen Your church, bless those who faithfully serve You, and draw those who do not yet know You to repentance and faith. Teach me to love others through faithful prayer and to trust You with every request I place into Your hands.

In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
