Journey 8 of 8
Receiving salvation is the beginning of a lifelong relationship with Jesus Christ. God calls His people to continue growing in faith, walking in obedience, loving others, and becoming more like Him every day.
Before You Begin
Ask the Lord to teach you through His Word. Growth does not happen in a single day but through a lifetime of faithfully following Jesus Christ. Read these passages prayerfully and ask God to shape your life according to His truth.
Theme
The Christian life is a daily walk with Jesus Christ. Through prayer, worship, studying God's Word, fellowship with other believers, and faithful obedience, we continue growing into the people God has called us to become.
Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.Luke 9:23
Read the Scriptures
The Christian life is not measured by a single moment but by a lifetime of faithfully walking with Jesus Christ. Throughout the New Testament, believers are encouraged to continue growing in grace, learning God's Word, loving others, and remaining faithful. As you read these passages, notice how God calls His people to live each day.
I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.John 15:5
Jesus reminds His followers that spiritual life is found in Him. Just as a branch depends upon the vine, we depend upon Christ every day. A growing relationship with Him produces spiritual fruit that reflects His character.
Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.Psalm 119:11
The Scriptures are God's gift to guide, strengthen, and encourage His people. Reading the Bible consistently helps us know God's heart, recognize His truth, and live wisely in a changing world.
Pray without ceasing.1 Thessalonians 5:17
Prayer is more than presenting requests to God. It is an ongoing relationship with our heavenly Father. Through prayer we worship Him, thank Him, seek His wisdom, and place our trust in His care.
By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.John 13:35
Jesus taught that genuine disciples are recognized by their love. As followers of Christ, we are called to extend grace, forgiveness, compassion, and kindness to others just as He has shown them to us.
But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.2 Peter 3:18
Spiritual growth is a lifelong journey. As we continue learning God's Word and walking with Him, our faith matures and our lives increasingly reflect the character of Jesus Christ.
Be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.Revelation 2:10
The Christian life is a journey of perseverance. God calls His people to remain faithful through seasons of joy and seasons of difficulty, trusting that He is with them every step of the way.
Understand the Truth
Following Jesus Christ is not limited to Sundays or special occasions. It shapes every part of life. Each day presents new opportunities to pray, read the Scriptures, worship God, serve others, and live in a manner that honors Him.
God does not ask His children to walk alone. Through His Word, His Spirit, and the fellowship of other believers, He continues to strengthen, guide, and transform those who faithfully follow Him.
Examine Your Heart
You have spent time studying what the Bible teaches about Jesus Christ, salvation, repentance, faith, baptism, the Holy Ghost, and living as a disciple. Now take a few moments to reflect on what God has shown you through His Word.
What truth from these studies has most impacted my heart?
In what areas of my life do I see God leading me to become more like Jesus Christ?
How will I continue seeking the Lord through prayer, His Word, and faithful obedience?
Write It Down
Prayer
Heavenly Father, Thank You for Your love, Your mercy, and Your faithfulness throughout every season of life. Thank You for revealing Yourself through Your Word and for inviting me into a relationship with You. Help me to remain faithful, to continue growing in grace, and to seek You with all my heart. Fill me with a deeper love for the Scriptures, a stronger desire for prayer, and a greater burden to share the gospel with others. May my life bring glory to Your name each day until I see You face to face. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
