Sharon Faye “Penny” Asher Hobbs
October 29, 1968 • August 30, 1999 • Age 30
Sharon Faye “Penny” Asher Hobbs was born on October 29, 1968, in Covington, Kenton County, Kentucky. She passed away on August 30, 1999, at the age of 30, in Flat Lick, Knox County, Kentucky.
Sharon was the beloved wife of Larry Hobbs of Flat Lick, Kentucky, and the mother of three children: Bradley Wayne Hobbs of Lexington, Kentucky; Ashley Hobbs of Calebs Creek, Kentucky; and Cassandra Dawn Hobbs of Cannon, Kentucky.
Sharon knew and loved her children during their young lives. Although she passed away before she could meet many of her grandchildren, her family continues to honor her memory.
Her son, Bradley, has a son, Gabriel Wayne Hobbs. Ashley’s children include Destiny Golden, whose newborn child is Samuel Levi Hosking; Shyann Golden; and Theodore Carrick of Post Falls, Idaho. Cassandra’s children include Kobe Ray Keaton Gray and Karmen LaShay Gray of Barbourville, Kentucky.
Her family finds comfort in believing that Sharon is looking down from Heaven with a smile beyond imagination, rejoicing over her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild. Though she did not have the opportunity to know many of them during her lifetime, they remain part of the family legacy she helped create.
Sharon was a homemaker who devoted herself to caring for her family. During a difficult period in her life, she worked to provide for her children while navigating the public assistance and welfare system that helped support them. Her circumstances did not diminish the importance of her role as a mother.
Sharon believed in the Pentecostal faith, which was an important part of her life.
Her funeral service was conducted at Hampton Funeral Home in Barbourville, Kentucky. She was laid to rest at Baker Cemetery in Flat Lick, Knox County, Kentucky, where she continues to be remembered and mourned by her family and loved ones.
Though Sharon’s life was brief, her memory continues through her children, grandchildren, and the generations that follow. Her love, her faith, and the family she helped bring into the world remain part of her lasting legacy.
Donna Sue Carnes Blevins
June 30, 1951 • February 25, 2012 • Age 60
SIDNEY. Donna S. Blevins, 60, of Sidney, died Saturday, February 25, 2012, at her residence.
She was born June 30, 1951, in Covington, Kentucky, to the late Garrett Carnes and the late Ohma (Jackson) Carnes Epperson. Her stepmother, Ruth Carnes, also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Blevins is survived by a son, Garrett (Amber) Asher of Piqua; a daughter, Susan (Mark) Gibboney of Troy; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Emma (Buster) Hale of Medway, Sharon (James) Gambrel of Knox County, Kentucky; a brother, Millard (Dianne) Carnes of Sidney; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Shirley Muhlenkamp and Beulah Hubbard; and a daughter, Sharon Hobbs.
Donna attended Solid Rock Pentecostal Church of God and had worked for Reliable Castings. She had also previously worked as an STNA at several area nursing homes, including Piqua Manor and Koester Pavilion.
Donna enjoyed the time spent with her family and grandchildren.
A funeral service to honor her life was conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, February 29, 2012, at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home, Piqua, with Rev. Charles Jarrett officiating.
Burial followed in Beechwood Cemetery, Lockington.

Mr. Roger Dale Asher, 82, of Flat Lick, the husband of Wanda Sue Asher, passed away Monday morning, September 7, 2026, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington.
His funeral service was conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Sunday, September 13, at 2 P.M. He was laid to rest in the Asher Cemetery.
Friends may visit at the funeral home Sunday after 12 Noon until the funeral hour.

Though their lives may no longer be with us in person, their love, influence, and memories remain part of the family story.
