CHAPTER TWO

The Unseen Path Begins to Move

The next morning felt different. Brad brewed his coffee and watched sunlight spill through the blinds. Something stirred quietly within him. A familiar tug rose deep in his spirit. A call to move. A call to listen. A call to trust.

He drove Gabriel to school and along the way his son unexpectedly spoke.

“Daddy, last night I heard someone say you are not alone. I was not scared. The voice sounded soft. I felt safe.”

Brad swallowed slowly while his hands tightened around the steering wheel. Silence filled the car for several moments. Children sometimes hear what adults explain away. Gabriel carried a simplicity of trust many people lose with time.

Later that afternoon Brad met Justin for lunch. Justin looked at him carefully. “You have that look.”

“What look?”

“The look of someone who had a dream that was more than a dream.”

Brad slowly explained every detail. The field. The light. The voice. The words. Walk toward Me. Do not wait to see the path. The path will rise to meet your feet.

Justin sat quietly. “That was Jesus,” he finally said. “He is telling you to move even while the ground appears empty.”

Brad looked downward. “What happens if I walk and nothing changes?”

Justin smiled gently. “Jesus will hold you either way. Something tells me you are not walking into failure. You are walking into fulfillment.”

Later that evening Brad prayed quietly. Peace moved across the room. No dramatic moment happened. No thunder. No shaking walls. Only a stillness powerful enough to calm every racing thought.

The unseen path had already begun moving.
