Every person asks life's biggest questions. Why am I here? What happens after death? Can I be forgiven? The Bible answers every one of those questions by first revealing our greatest need. We need a Savior.

Every Person Needs Jesus Christ
The Bible teaches that every human being has sinned and stands in need of God's grace. Our greatest problem is not our circumstances, our past, or the opinions of others. Our greatest need is reconciliation with God, and that reconciliation is found only through Jesus Christ.

Why Does Every Person Need a Savior?
The Bible answers this question with remarkable clarity. Before we can appreciate the good news of the gospel, we must first understand the condition of humanity. As you read the following passages, ask yourself what each one teaches about our relationship with God and our need for His grace.
God Created Us for Fellowship
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.Genesis 1:27
God created humanity with purpose. We were not created to live apart from Him but to know Him, walk with Him, and glorify Him. From the beginning, His desire was to have fellowship with those He created.
Sin Separates Us from God
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.Romans 3:23
Sin affects every person. It is not limited to a particular background, age, or nation. Scripture teaches that all have sinned, reminding us that every one of us stands in need of God's mercy.
Sin Has Consequences
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.Romans 6:23
This verse presents two realities. Sin earns a wage that leads to death, yet God offers a gift that cannot be earned. Eternal life is given through Jesus Christ.
We Cannot Save Ourselves
Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us.Titus 3:5
No amount of good works, personal effort, or religious activity can remove sin. Salvation is the result of God's mercy, not human achievement. This truth points us away from trusting ourselves and toward trusting the Savior.
God Made a Way
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.Romans 5:8
Even while humanity was separated from Him by sin, God demonstrated His love by providing the sacrifice we could never provide for ourselves. Jesus Christ came to accomplish what no one else could accomplish.
Understand the Truth
Our Greatest Need Meets God's Greatest Gift
Every person has different experiences, different struggles, and a different story. Yet the Bible reveals that we all share the same greatest need. We need forgiveness. We need reconciliation with God. We need the Savior He has provided through Jesus Christ.
The good news is that our story does not end with sin. God's love, mercy, and grace make a way for restoration through Jesus Christ. That is the message we will continue exploring in the next study.

A Prayer of Gratitude
Heavenly Father, Thank You for showing me through Your Word that my greatest need is not found in this world but in my relationship with You. Thank You for loving me enough to provide a Savior through Jesus Christ. As I continue studying the Scriptures, give me wisdom, humility, and a heart that is willing to follow wherever You lead. Help me to trust in Your grace and to walk faithfully according to Your Word. In Jesus' name, Amen.
